Oz is a writer and director. 

He recently directed an hour long episode of BBC’s Waterloo Road and is in post on the lead block of a new kids comedy mystery series for BBC, directing four episodes.

Born and raised in Halifax, West Yorkshire, Oz transitioned to filmmaking after a successful teaching career.

He worked as 2nd Unit Director on BBC’s Black Ops Season 2 and spent 16 months full time on HBO’s House of the Dragon Season 1 through the Warner HBO Director Mentorship Programme, working under Emmy winning director Miguel Sapochnik. He has shadowed Otto Bathurst on His Dark Materials and The Winter King, and was mentored by Tessa Hoffe (Kin, Gangs of London, Fightland).

His short films Opening Up and Mums the Word have screened at more than 40 festivals, including HollyShorts, Aesthetica and Bolton Film Festival. His television writing has also placed in the top 3% and 9% of BBC Writersroom submissions.

Oz is part of BAFTA Connect and co hosts The Director’s Take podcast.
